Non-fluoride Vs. Flouride Mouthwash

You may wonder what the difference in this is, and why it may matter to use a fluoride mouthwash. Well, in this you’ll learn the difference, and why each f them are important.

Non-fluoride mouthwash is essentially a way to help you freshen your breath. You also want to remember that this shouldn’t replace your brushing and flossing as well. It contains a mint flavoring, and it will generally not contain fluoride unless the label says that it does. So, if you want to freshen your breath, this is generally the reason for using this, and it will help with also preventing cavities as well in some cases since they’ll prevent it from building up.

A fluoride version, in contrast, contains fluoride, which protects the tooth from various acids that are made by this plaque, but again, they’re not a substitute for flossing and frushing.  The fluoride is good because it will coat the enamel area of the teet, and it is a good way to protect against cavities, especially for children and younger people. It also can reverse the early stages of tooth decay as well by strengthening your enamel, and allow for the teeth that are damaged by this acid to have minerals once again.

However, you should always remember that a fluoride mouthwash or rinse should always be done after brushing and flossing, and you should also use these for children that are older than 6 years old, since they may end up swallowing the rinse rather than spitting it out, and it’s not good to actually have that.

But, do you really need fluoride mouthwash? Well, in some cases, you can get it from the drinking water. In 1945, these communities started to add the fluoride that is there, and this actually caused the cavity instances to decrease. In 2002, the CDC actually found that 66% of the American population does get fluoridated tap water, so it can help with preventing tooth decay. If you don’t already get it from the water, I do suggest potentially seeing if your local water supply gets it.  If it’s anywhere between .7 and 1.2 parts per million of water, that’s ideal, and if you don’t have it, you can use these supplements. it’s definitely a good idea to have this, especially if your water isn’t as clean and filled with this as it should be.

But, what about if you don’t’ have it in your tap water? Well, filter it out, you’ll be able to get cleaner water that also doesn’t have any issues with it. If you already have fluoride in it, you’ll be able to, quite easily, have a cleaner mouth, and one that isn’t as filled with cavities as others may be.  it’s a good investment for those looking to protect their teeth, and if you’ve ever been curious about the difference between both of these, well there you go. it’s important to have, and it’s something that can prevent tooth decay.
